Description

Cavex CleverCast Premium Alginate is based on a unique combination of the highest quality ingredients to offer excellent reproduction of the body, delicate objects or organic materials (fruit, plants, etc.).

Molding alginate is a hydrophilic polymer derived from dried, ground seaweed.

It comes in the form of a fine gray powder to be mixed with water. In contact with water, the alginate slowly thickens and gels. The resulting paste is non-toxic, hypoallergenic and safe to apply directly to the skin.

Alginate is easy to use, and thanks to its rapid processing time, you can create a mold in just a few minutes, whether it’s your baby’s hand or foot, your pet’s footprint or simply fragile everyday objects.

Similar to pink alginate, Cavex alginate turns green on contact with water, offering a delicious minty fragrance.

Hurry up, add it to your basket and try it out.

Mixing and application

1.Preparation

Prepare the object or surface to be molded, making sure it is clean.

Application to heavily hairy skin requires protection, so coat the areas concerned with petroleum jelly to facilitate removal.

2.mixing ratio

Flexible mixing ratio, prepare the required quantity according to the size of the object to be molded.

Small prints: 1 part powder to 1 or 2 parts water

Large prints: 1 part powder to 3 or 4 parts water

3.mixing

Measure out the required amount of water and pour in 1/3 of the powder.

Mix the first mixture well before adding the remaining 2/3 of the powder. Mixing can be done by hand or with a mechanical tool. Mixing time depends on the method chosen, but in all cases it’s important to obtain a lump-free solution.

When the mixture is perfectly homogeneous, the alginate is ready for use.

Working time depends on both the choice of alginate and the temperature of the water: the warmer it is, the faster it sets.

4.molding

Immerse the object to be reproduced for a few minutes. When it sets, gently pull it out.

Alginate can be applied in successive layers to the face, or to any surface of your choice.

In this case, it will be necessary to create a plaster shell to support it.

To do this, use plaster strips, cut to the required length by yourself.

After moistening them, apply them directly to the gelled alginate and repeat the operation until a sufficiently solid shell is obtained.

5.Prise

Let the alginate set: setting time varies according to the type of alginate used, generally between 3 and 5 minutes. You’ll know the alginate has set when it becomes solid and elastic to the touch, and you can then gently remove the object or body part from the mold.

6.using the mould

Use the mold immediately or within a few hours, as the water will evaporate, causing the mold to shrink slowly.

The closer the mold is to a heat source, the faster evaporation will take place.

Prints can be made in molding plaster, synthetic plaster , wax or our F23 polyurethane resin.

7.demoulding

Gently tear off the alginate mold to release the proof.

The mold is not reusable.

8.storage

Store for 3 years in a dry place.
