Cavex CleverCast Premium Alginate is based on a unique combination of the highest quality ingredients to offer excellent reproduction of the human body (face, hands, etc.), delicate objects or organic materials (fruit, plants, animals, etc.).
Alginate is a hydrophilic polymer derived from dried seaweed.
It comes in the form of a fine gray powder to be mixed with water. On contact, the alginate will slowly thicken and gel. The resulting paste is non-toxic, hypoallergenic and can be applied directly to the skin.
Alginate is easy to use and allows you to create a mold in just a few minutes, whether it’s your child’s hand or foot, your pet’s footprint or simply everyday objects.
Available in 2 setting times: normal = 3′ and slow = 7′.

1 – Preparation
Prepare the object or surface to be molded, making sure it is clean and dry.
When applying to hairy skin, coat the areas concerned with petroleum jelly to facilitate removal.
2 – Mixing ratio
Flexible mixing ratio, prepare the required quantity according to the size of the object to be molded.
Small prints: 1 part powder to 1 or 2 parts water
Large prints: 1 part powder to 3 or 4 parts water
3 – Mixing
Measure out the required amount of water and pour in 1/3 of the powder.
Mix the first mixture well before adding the remaining 2/3 of the powder. Mixing can be done by hand or with a mechanical tool.
When the mixture is perfectly homogeneous, the alginate is ready for use.
4 – Casting
Immerse the object to be reproduced in it for a few minutes. When it sets, gently pull it out.
Alternatively, alginate can be applied in a thick layer to the face or any other surface of your choice.
In this case, it will be necessary to create a plaster shell to support it.
To do this, use plaster strips, cut to the required length by yourself.
After moistening them, apply them directly to the alginate and repeat the operation until you obtain a sufficiently solid shell.
5 – Plug
Let the alginate set: setting time varies according to the type of alginate used, generally between 3 and 5 minutes. You’ll know the alginate is set when it becomes solid and elastic to the touch, then you can gently remove the object or body part from the mold.
6 – Using the mold
Use the mold immediately, or within a few hours, as the water evaporates and the mold shrinks.
Prints can be made in molded plaster, synthetic plaster, wax or our F23 polyurethane resin.
7 – Demolding
Gently tear off the alginate mold to release the print.
The mould is not reusable.
8 – Storage
Store for 3 years in a dry place.
