PVA fibers are the new alternative to glass reinforcement for cement systems. This is a synthetic polyvinyl alcohol fiber whose chemical and physical characteristics make it particularly well-suited to the Jesmonite family of polymer-modified cement materials. They have high strength combined with low elongation and high modulus. They offer advanced adhesion to the polymer cement matrix, as well as inherent resistance to the degrading effects of alkalinity in such a matrix. We highly recommend their addition to Jesmonite systems to resist frost damage in the harshest outdoor environments.
