The thixotropic agent is added to the mixture (A+B) to adjust its texture. A 1 to 3 mm thick layer of Jesmonite can then be applied without running off the mold surface.
The addition of a thickener is particularly useful when applying a protective Gelcoat layer in a mold. It makes glass fiber reinforcements invisible on the surface of laminated objects.
The thixotropic agent can also be used to give the material a pasty consistency for use as a putty or jointing compound to bond two laminated elements.
Addition: 2g to 6g per kilo of Jesmonite A+B mixture

Storage: store in original packaging between 5°C and 25°C.
1. Preparation
Mix the powder and liquid Jesmonite in the recommended ratio.
2. Addition of thickener
When the mixture is homogeneous, add between 2g and 6g per kilo of jesmonite A+B and stir gently until the desired consistency is reached. E.g.: for 500g of Jesmonite mix, add between 1 and 3g of thixotropic agent.
3. Application
Depending on the viscosity obtained, apply the material with a spatula or brush.
Its highly thickened texture enables it to cling perfectly to vertical or inclined surfaces without dripping.
4. Drying
Drying time may vary according to the thickness applied and the environment. Wait at least 24 hours before painting or varnishing Jesmonite.
