About the Artist

Laurent … Carpentier, born in Brussels on October 4, 1968, is a multi-talented artist. After studying artistic humanities at the Institut St-Luc and perfecting his art at La Cambre and the Académie de Saint-Gilles, he quickly distinguished himself in the world of comics as a specialist in computer coloring. He has collaborated on many successful series, including L’Agent 212, Cupidon, Du côté de chez Poje, Boule à Zéro and many others.

Alongside his career in comics, he explores other artistic fields, creating a wide range of illustrations, logos, websites, posters and flyers, all imbued with his characteristic humor and whimsy.

He has also ventured into the world of painting and sculpture, creating funny, quirky and colorful figurines that capture the public’s attention.

Around 2018, Laurent… Carpentier and Natacha de Locht founded the publishing house “Les NEZ à NEZ” to publish their fun and educational children’s books on the themes of sexuality and consent, with Laurent… as illustrator and Natacha as writer. These books meet a strong demand.

Laurent’s funny pink elephants… Carpentier, are also the protagonists of his brand-new book “Le Dessin du Lundi”.

His elephants have become the emblematic characters of his universe, and you’ll have the opportunity to discover them at the exhibition.
