Wacker’s ELASTOSIL FX 20 special effects silicone is a translucent, ultra-fast demoulding RTV-2 platinum silicone Shore 20A, ideal for creating SFX prosthetics, special effects makeup, and realistic skin effects.

Its flexibility, translucency, and excellent detail reproduction allow for the creation of soft silicone prosthetics, artificial scars, realistic wounds, and custom pieces for film, theatre, professional makeup, and artistic creations.

Thanks to its easy 1:1 mix, 8 to 12 minute working time, and demoulding in just 45 minutes, this fast-curing silicone accelerates production while achieving precise and detailed results.

The ELASTOSIL FX 20 is also suitable for applications involving skin contact, under the manufacturer’s specified conditions, making it a versatile material for special effects and prosthetic creation professionals.

How to use ELASTOSIL FX 20 silicone

  1. Preparation: work on a clean, dry model free of substances that may inhibit platinum silicone curing.
  2. 1:1 Ratio: homogenize components A and B separately, then weigh equal amounts (100:100 by weight).
  3. Mixing: thoroughly mix both components, scraping the sides and bottom of the container.
  4. Working time: 8 to 12 minutes at 23 °C after mixing.
  5. Application: slowly pour the silicone onto the model to reproduce details and limit air bubble formation.
  6. Curing: allow to cure at room temperature, without moving the model.
  7. Demoulding: demould after approximately 45 minutes at 23 °C.
