Clear Polyester Gelcoat ISO-NPG is a professional-grade gelcoat designed for making and finishing polyester, fibreglass, and composite parts.
It’s applied directly as a first layer in the mould, before lamination, to form the visible outer surface of the part once demoulded. It gives a smooth, glossy, and even finish, while protecting the laminate against water, moisture, and outdoor wear.
Its ISO-NPG (isophthalic – neopentyl glycol) formulation gives it excellent resistance to water and moisture, along with good chemical and ageing resistance. It’s especially suited to composite parts, fibreglass components, and marine applications that need a durable finish.
Naturally clear, the gelcoat can be used as is or tinted with pigments compatible with polyester resins to get the colour you want.
The product comes as a complete kit with MEKP catalyst included, ready to be dosed and catalysed before application.
Ideal for making and finishing:
For use only with appropriate precautions. Wear gloves and safety goggles and work in a well-ventilated area.
MEKP catalyst must be handled with care. Follow the recommended dosage and check the labels and safety data sheets (SDS) before use.
Keep out of reach of children.

Gelcoat is mainly applied inside a mould before lamination and forms the outer surface of the part. Topcoat contains paraffin and is used as a finishing layer on an already-made composite part. The paraffin lets it cure properly on the surface in contact with air.
Not like a standard topcoat. On an already demoulded part, it can be used as a pre-coat before applying a finishing topcoat.
Add 1 to 2% MEKP catalyst. At 20°C with 2% MEKP, the indicative gel time is 15 to 20 minutes.
Yes, with pigments compatible with polyester resins to get the colour you want.
Its ISO-NPG formulation offers very good ageing and immersion resistance, making it especially suited to composite applications in contact with water.
