Polyurethane Expanding Foam – Professional PU Foam for Molding, Filling and Insulation

Rigid polyurethane foam designed for precise, fast, and perfectly controlled filling.
From :  48,38 TVA Incl.

Description

PUR foams are two-component, closed-cell rigid foam products, CFC-free, designed for technical and structural applications. They provide good thermal and acoustic insulation, both indoors and outdoors.

Developed for assembly, filling, insulation, and certain structural adhesive applications, these foams offer controlled expansion, excellent dimensional stability, and a uniform density, ideal for creating solid, lightweight, and perfectly defined volumes.

They feature strong adhesion to many substrates (wood, metal, stone, etc.) and are easy to use, for both DIY and professional applications.

Once cured, the foam offers high rigidity and excellent mechanical strength, suitable for making cores, reinforcements, prototypes, and technical parts. It is also resistant to water, seawater, hydrocarbons, and certain diluted chemical agents.

Use as adhesive and insulation

PUR foams can be used for bonding applications, particularly for assembling lightweight materials or stabilizing elements. Their controlled expansion ensures effective support while filling substrate irregularities.

Their closed-cell structure guarantees good insulation, limiting heat loss and reducing sound transmission.

Application Instructions

Preparation and temperature

Stir components A and B thoroughly before use. Maintain a minimum temperature of 18°C (ideally 20–25°C) to ensure an optimal reaction.

Dosing and mixing

Weigh component A precisely, add component B according to the indicated ratio, then mix immediately until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Poor mixing can affect expansion and final density.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Quickly pour the mixture into the designated area or mold, without overfilling (expansion in progress).
Pouring is recommended; a spray gun is less suitable for this type of foam.
Depending on the case, using formwork or a suitable support allows for better control of the final shape.

Reaction and finishing

Observe the indicated reaction times. After full cure, the foam can be cut, sanded, or painted.

Technical specifications

The various references (HR, H75, H101, H200) cover a wide range of applications: insulation, buoyancy, filling, prototyping, technical parts, and structural inserts.

They feature densities between 40 and 200 kg/m³, with a closed-cell rate of over 90%, guaranteeing mechanical performance suited to each application. Mixing ratios, expansion coefficients, and reaction times vary by reference, allowing for precise adjustment based on project needs.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, expansion depends on the mixture and quantity used. It’s recommended not to completely fill the volume, as the foam continues to expand after application.

Yes, but it’s advisable to apply in multiple layers to better control expansion and avoid any deformation.

It adheres very well to most materials like wood, metal, or certain plastics, provided the surface is clean and dry.

Yes, once cured, the foam can be cut, sanded, or reworked as needed.

Yes, once cured, polyurethane foam is stable and durable, and retains its mechanical properties long-term. However, its color may yellow over time.
