Platinum Translucent Molding Silicone – High Precision & Easy Demolding

Highly fluid platinum molding silicone, 1:1 ratio, bubble-free, ideal for reproducing the finest details.
From :  19,38 TVA Incl.

Description

PA range molding silicones are translucent addition-curing (platinum) silicones, recognized for their very high reproduction precision, low shrinkage, and excellent dimensional stability.

Easy to use thanks to their 1:1 mixing ratio, they stand out for their high fluidity, which helps limit bubbles, as well as their fast curing at room temperature.

The translucency of our PA silicones offers a real advantage during pouring, allowing you to visualize the inside of the mold and perfectly control the filling.

Compared to traditional silicones, platinum silicones offer superior performance, with high chemical resistance and optimal durability, even for repeated or series productions.

Suitable for silicone molding, RTV, part reproduction, technical and artistic molds.

Its high resistance to alkaline components makes it particularly suitable for applications with concrete or technical materials.

Shore A 22 and 40 versions can be thickened with a thixotropic agent (THIXO) to obtain a paste-like texture, ideal for spatula application on vertical surfaces.

Applications

  • Molding and casting plaster or aqua resin
  • Molding candle containers and wax pouring
  • Resin molding: epoxy, polyester, polyurethane
  • Part reproduction: technical objects, prototypes, small and large series
  • Artistic creation: sculptures, figurines, decorative objects
  • Concrete casting (excellent resistance to alkaline environments)
  • Molding reconstituted stone and decorative elements
  • Model making and industrial prototyping
  • Manufacturing of technical and industrial molds

Advantages

  • Non-toxic silicone
  • 1:1 mixing ratio
  • Very fluid → limits bubbles
  • Ultra precise → faithful detail reproduction
  • Curing time adjustable according to temperature (the warmer it is, the faster it sets)
  • Resistant and durable (more than 100 castings)
  • Compatible with acrylic resin, plaster, concrete, PU, epoxy

Application of 4000-4006 Transparent Epoxy Resin

1. Surface preparation

Seal the model’s surface if it is absorbent or has natural porosity.

If the surface to be reproduced is porous (wood, plaster, ceramic, etc.), it is recommended to apply a sealant, a release agent, or wax to prevent silicone penetration and adhesion to the model.

2. Formwork

Create a formwork around the object to be reproduced, allowing for a silicone thickness of 3 to 8 mm depending on its hardness.

  • Check the formwork’s watertightness to prevent any leaks
  • Ensure the piece is securely fixed to prevent it from moving or floating during pouring

3. Ratio & mixing

In a clean, dry container, weigh out the quantity of silicone required and calculate a 1:1 addition of catalyst (e.g.: 100gr base + 100gr catalyst).

  • Mix the components thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained
  • For mechanical mixing, work at low speed (300 to 500 rpm) for 2 to 3 minutes
  • Keep the mixer head submerged to limit air bubble incorporation

4. Pouring silicone

Pour the silicone in a thin stream, aiming for the lowest point of the mold.

To limit air bubbles:

  • apply a first coat with a brush (primer coat)
  • then proceed with complete filling

5. Curing

Allow to cure at room temperature.

Demolding can generally be done after 6 hours (depending on the environment).

6. Cleaning

Do not clean the silicone in its liquid state.

Let it harden, then mechanically remove it from tools.
