103 STICK METAL REPAIR (KIT)

103 Metal Repair Stick A single-component repair putty in stick form that hardens rapidly at room temperature after mixing. It is a metal repair adhesive that develops mechanical strength in a short time and can be used for emergency repairs.

Surface preparation

Metal substrates – Hand tools 1. All oil and grease must be removed from the surface using a suitable cleaner such as MEK. 2. All surfaces should be cleaned using a wire brush, metal file, coarse sandpaper, etc. 3. Once abraded, the surface must be degreased and cleaned with MEK or a similar product. Metal substrates – Mechanical tools 1. All oil and grease must be removed from the surface using a suitable cleaner such as MEK. 2. All surfaces must be mechanically abraded using hand grinders to ISO 8501/4 ST3 (SSPC SP3 ST3). 3. Once abraded, the surface must be degreased and cleaned with MEK or a similar product. 4. All surfaces must be coated before ginger or oxidation appears.

Mixing and application

Before mixing, check the following points 1. Ambient and surface temperature above 5°C (41F°). 2. The product is supplied in stick form, so the base and activator components are pre-measured. 3. Simply detach the required amount of material from the stick and knead the product with gloved hands until the black and grey components have reached a medium consistency. until the black and grey components become a homogeneous medium grey. 4. Once fully mixed, the product has a useful life of 3 to 5 minutes at 20°C (68F°). 5. Once a homogeneous mixture has been obtained, apply the material by pressing the putty onto the prepared surface.

Drying time

At 20°C (68F°), allow applied materials to harden for the times indicated below before subjecting them to the conditions indicated. These times will be extended at lower temperatures and reduced at higher temperatures: – Service life 5 mins – Machining and light loading 30 mins – Full cure 1 hour

Mixed material – Medium grey Base component – Dark grey Activator component – Light grey

Conservation

5 years if unopened and stored under normal dry conditions (15-30°C)
