WWA – Transparent Epoxy Embedding Resin for Deep Pours – Crystal Finish

Transparent epoxy casting resin for decorative, professional, and industrial applications.

WWA epoxy resin is an easy-to-use bio-based system, formulated for thin or deep pours up to 9 cm, depending on the selected hardener. The WWA system features very low viscosity, ensuring homogeneous application and natural degassing for a smooth, bubble-free result. Thanks to its excellent fluidity, UV resistance and crystal-clear transparency, WWA epoxy resin from Resoltech ranks among the best epoxy casting resins on the market.

Description

WWA eco clear epoxy resin is a two-component embedding system designed for thick castings and applications requiring high transparency. Developed from over 25 years of experience in formulating casting epoxy systems, it offers low viscosity, crystal clarity and excellent UV resistance. It’s a great resin for decorative or technical projects requiring a high-quality finish.

Versatile, WWA resin transforms ordinary objects into true decorative or artistic creations. It can be tinted with opaque pigments, inks or translucent dyes, and accepts the addition of numerous decorative or technical fillers: fluorescent elements, opalescent elements, metallic powders, glitter, pearl powder, fiberglass and many more.

Thanks to its unique properties, WWA is particularly suited to decorative creations such as jewelry, fashion accessories, river tables or resin surfaces, tabletops, sculptures or modeling projects.

It’s also suitable for many professional applications, including embedding for microscope observation, prototyping, casting in woodworking, design, interior architecture, furniture restoration or renovation.

WWA epoxy resin has good UV resistance. However, like all epoxy resins, slight yellowing may appear over time. Using suitable additives, such as UV stabilizers or Optical Bright, helps slow this phenomenon.

Important:
Using epoxy resins requires appropriate protective equipment. Always work in safe conditions and use proper protection.

How much epoxy resin do I need?

Refer to the calculator available at the bottom of the page to accurately estimate the amount of resin needed for your project.

As a guide:

1 liter of resin equals 1.1 kg.
1.1 kg of resin covers approximately 1 m² at 1 mm thickness.

To limit the risk of exotherm, it’s recommended to not exceed a volume of 3 to 5 liters per casting.

Application Instructions

1. Choose the right resin

  • WWA / B7: for castings up to 1.5 cm thick

  • WWA / B4: for castings up to 9 cm thick

2. Get the necessary protection

  • Nitrile gloves

  • Safety goggles

  • Appropriate clothing

  • ABEK1 respirator mask

Resin must never come into contact with skin.

3. Preparation of work surface and substrate:

Good surface preparation is essential for optimal results. Work in a clean, dry and well-ventilated space, with a stable ambient temperature between 20 and 25 °C. Cover the work surface with plastic or newspaper to protect the work environment from resin spills. A workshop, garage or dedicated workspace is recommended.

For casting in a rigid mold, use a suitable release agent. For casting in a silicone mold, this is generally not necessary.

River tables

For making a river table, it’s recommended to apply an epoxy resin-based primer on the wood to seal the material.
This prevents finish variations caused by uneven resin absorption by the wood.

4. Dosing resin and hardener

Measure the amount of resin and hardener according to the mixing ratio recommended by the manufacturer.

  • WWA / B4:

    • 100:40 (rigid version)

    • 100:90 (flexible version)

  • WWA / B7:

    • 100:45 (by weight)

    • 100:50 (by volume)

5. Mixing

Precise mixing is essential to guarantee resin performance.

Mix gently for 3 to 5 minutes, scraping the sides and bottom of the container to obtain a homogeneous mixture. For larger volumes, you can use a low-speed mixer mounted on a drill. Then transfer the mixture to a second clean container and mix again to ensure perfect homogeneity.

This step is always particularly important for lamination applications, embedding and other technical work.

6. Pigments and additives:

Experiment with different combinations to achieve the colors and effects you want for your project.

  • opaque epoxy pigments

  • translucent dyes

  • glitter

  • decorative powders

  • various inclusions

7. Pouring the resin

Pour the resin slowly in a thin stream to limit bubble formation.

Regular layers dissipate heat better.

✔ 2 cm + 2 cm + 2 cm
✖ 3 cm + 1 cm + 2.5 cm

8. Hardening

Let the resin cure at room temperature for the recommended cure time (24 to 72 h).

Temperature and thickness influence drying time.

9. Finishing

After demolding, you can:

  • sand

  • polish

  • apply a varnish

Applying a gloss varnish restores the resin’s transparency and protects the surface.

10. Cleaning

Tools and equipment must be cleaned immediately after use, before the resin fully cures.

Usage tips

Removing air bubbles

  • mechanically, by gently stirring the resin to bring them to the surface

  • thermally, by quickly passing a torch or heat gun over the surface

⚠️ The flame must never come into direct contact with the resin.

Moisture sensitivity

Epoxy resin may show surface whitening in the presence of moisture during curing.

To avoid this phenomenon, it’s recommended to keep the piece in a dry and stable environment, especially during the first 24 to 48 hours.

Mass effect

Too large a volume of resin can cause excessive exothermic reaction (mixture heating). Always respect the maximum casting thicknesses indicated in the technical data sheet.

Regular successive layers of 2 cm allow better heat dissipation and more stable curing.
